FAQ
Questions, answered.
Plain answers about the template.
Which tools does this template work with?
Any. It is a standard Excel file that also opens in Google Sheets and Numbers. Paste volume and difficulty from whichever SEO tool you already use.
How is the priority score calculated?
Business value times an intent weight times ease, which is 100 minus difficulty, divided by 100. You can change the intent weights in the Intent Guide tab.
Are the example rows real data?
No. The first three rows are examples with made-up numbers to show the format. Delete or overwrite them.
Why only one URL per keyword?
If two pages target the same search, they compete with each other. One clear page per intent ranks better and is easier to maintain.
Why do you ask for my email?
So we can send you the link and one short follow-up. There is no newsletter and we never share your email.
Can I share it with my team?
Yes. Copy it, edit it and share it inside your company as much as you like.
What is keyword mapping in SEO?
Assigning each target keyword to the one page that should rank for it, based on what the searcher wants. It stops pages competing and shows which pages are missing.
How many keywords should one page target?
One main keyword and its close variations, all with the same intent. If a keyword needs a different answer, it needs a different page.
What is keyword cannibalization?
When several of your pages target the same search, so Google cannot tell which to rank. It usually lowers all of them.
Should B2B companies target low-volume keywords?
Often, yes. Specific B2B searches may only have a few dozen searches a month, but each can come from a buyer with a real budget.
How often should we update the keyword map?
Review it quarterly, and whenever you launch a service, enter a market or see new questions from sales.
Does keyword mapping still matter with AI search?
Yes. AI tools lean on clear pages that answer specific questions. A clean map gives each question one strong page to be cited.
